Our Programmes

Some may see playing sports a privilege but we see it as a way of connecting and growing. At Wallsend Boys Club Hong Kong, we seek ways to provide children who don't have the chance to play football that same opportunity. By partnering with local NGOs as well as professional sports coaches, we have successfully ran several programmes for underprivileged children around Hong Kong. Not only did we engage with them in terms of the drills and the game, we also introduced them to what we pride ourselves in - the Wallsend Way - fairness, community, opportunity and developing behaviours for life, outside the realms of football.

Holiday Camps

We launched our holiday camps during the summer of 2024, providing some pitch fun to two different groups of children. We had the privilege of meeting children from Integrated Brilliant Education, an NGO supporting underserved non-Chinese speaking communities, as well as children from Centre for Refugees. With the generosity from LGA Foundation and Asia Pacific Soccer Schools, we were able to provide football sessions in the afternoons, followed up by a scrumptious meal at HKFC! We look forward to the next school break!

HKFC Crusaders

The HKFC Crusaders is the community soccer programme and part of the Clubs community initiative for players with intellectual and / or physical disabilities.

Po Leung Kuk

We enrolled children who lived in Po Leung Kuk school in Causeway Bay into the Saturday a.m. Junior Soccer programme at Hong Kong Football Club.  The group varied from five to 12 years of age, both girls and boys. Every week, these children came onto the pitch with our kit and footwear and after the training session, we provided lunch before they headed back to PLK.

Catholic Missionary School

Catholic Missionary School is a Hong Kong government-funded school with no outdoor space. Prior to Covid, we ran training sessions with professional coaches for a group of 20 children once per week at Hong Kong Football Club, ranging from 10 to 15 years of age.
